The artist has donated the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to protect the Britain's grassroots concert spaces.

The star was presented with the award on mid-October as his third album the album was declared the best record of the last 12 months.

Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the vital role grassroots venues fulfilled in his early career.

"As an artist wouldn't be doing my current career if it wasn't for all the gigs I performed around the area, and further afield, when I was starting out," remarked Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are facing challenges."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – about 16% of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, well-known musicians including Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a minor surcharge to their admission fees, which goes to help smaller concert halls.

He also took part, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The donation assisted locations that were dealing with potential shutdown due to difficulties stemming from floods, fires and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and noise complaints.

Some locations obtained funding support in upgrading infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that directly benefitted musicians and concertgoers.

"The idea that revenue from shows in big venues supports the independent spots, where it kicks off for artists like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has said.

The musician is far from the only musician to give his honor winnings to charitable organizations.

In Pulp earned the trophy in the year 1996 for their album their work, vocalist the singer declared that the group would give their cash to the organization War Child.

In 2002, artist the artist divided her prize across several organizations, like the children's charity and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"Additionally, I contributed a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they required updated gear," she explained to outlets.

Previously, Ezra Collective contributed their winnings to the youth organization that supported their band, in addition to other independent music bodies.

Additionally winners that year they gave their award to a multiple sclerosis charity after a acquaintance was identified with the disease.

"Winning was quite enough," stated singer the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our success touched the lives of others."

Last week, the MVT shared it had rescued two small stages in that region, by placing them under local control.

The Joiners in that area and the other in that location were purchased under the public acquisition program, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who buy "stakes" in the venues.
